The Treatments

“Nuad Thai Boran” has clear Buddhist and Indian roots, as can be seen from its many passive yoga poses and the Ayurvedic principles it follows.

This type of massage is performed on the floor on a futon (mat) and does not involve the use of oils; therefore, it is recommended wearing comfortable clothes (preferably made of natural fibers) to allow for a full range of motion.

Every treatment will be different, although the duration you choose will inevitably affect how thorough it is.

Session Lengths

Anyone familiar with Thai massage knows full well that it’s a treatment that doesn’t reach its full potential in just one hour; a shorter session would be too focused on specific areas, incomplete, or—worse yet—rushed despite covering the entire body.

An hour and a half is already a satisfactory and sufficiently comprehensive duration to reap the benefits of this treatment.

A two-hour session, on the other hand, would allow you to receive the treatment in its entirety: supine, prone, both sides, and seated, using hands, feet, elbows, and knees… in traditional Thai style!

Nuad Thai Boran

This is a holistic treatment, meaning it addresses the whole person—physically, but above all energetically and spiritually—with both the therapist and the recipient focusing on breathing; therefore, it is a form of meditation.

* A gentler version is also available, specifically designed for pregnant women (after the first trimester).

Nuad Thai Boran – Feet/Knees

Similar to Traditional Thai Massage, but primarily using the feet and knees (with the exception of a few transition points). Suitable for those seeking deeper pressure and for larger individuals.

Durata:

  • 1.30h – 75€

Bamboo Canes Massage

A traditional technique from northern Thailand that uses two bamboo canes—one long and one short—applied either at the ends or in the middle, by applying pressure or rolling the stick. It can be painful at times, but it’s definitely effective!

Durata:

  • 1.30h – 75€

Tok Sen

A northern technique that involves the use of wooden tools—a method favored by rice farmers—which gave rise to a style developed using the tools they had at their disposal during the Lanna Kingdom era. “Tok” literally means “to hammer,” while the “Sen” are the meridians of Thai medicine that are worked on to create a constant vibrational sensation throughout the body.

Durata:

  • 1.30h – 75€
